Graham Plumbers’ Merchant has announced the shortlist for the Graham College Refresh Scheme – with the winning college receiving £10,000.

The competition was open to colleges across the UK who were asked to nominate themselves.

It was judged on a range of criteria from level of need and strength of application, to the potential positive impact on students and trainers, both now and in the future.

The £10,000 prize money can be put towards the college’s materials, labour and any other project costs associated with updating its plumbing and heating training workshops.

Worcester Bosch will also offer expert technical advice and support, which will allow students to have an unrivalled opportunity to develop their knowledge and skill set.

The winning college will be announced at an awards presentation hosted by Graham on 14th June at Worcester Bosch’s head office in Worcester.

Ian Kenny, Marketing Director at Graham, said: “Graham is keen to support the development of the next generation of heating and plumbing professionals.

“It’s especially rewarding to see the students and apprentices we welcome at our trade counters grow into technical experts and business owners in their own right and training colleges have a huge role to play in making this happen.

“We therefore hope that the prize will have a significant impact on the winning college and make a notable difference to its students’ learning environment.”

Martyn Bridges, Director of Technical Communication and Product Management at Worcester Bosch, said: “Huge congratulations to all of the shortlisted colleges.

“It is great to see so many hard-working students and apprentice installers getting involved with this initiative, and we look forward to visiting the winning college.”
