With the postponed final originally due to take place on 22 and 23 April, we caught up with some of our finalists to see how the lockdown has affected them – and why they entered the competition in the first place.

PLEASE NOTE: The Final and the Scottish heat have been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak – a new date will be announced ASAP. Full statement here.

It is with regret that we announce the postponement of the Scottish heat and the Final of the HIP Apprentice of the Year competition. With rising cases of COVID-19 throughout the UK, as organisers, we have a duty of care to competitors, spectators, sponsors and staff. We have therefore taken the decision to postpone the Scottish heat of the HIP Apprentice of the Year. We have also postponed the Final, which was due to take place at the end of April. We are currently working with the venue and our sponsors to secure a new date. We appreciate this is disappointing news for the competitors, we will make a further announcement about the new date ASAP. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. The HIP Team #HIPAOY20
